About Daintree Peaks ECO Stays

WELCOME TO THE DAINTREE NATIONAL PARK

WELCOME TO THE DAINTREE NATIONAL PARK

Daintree Peaks ECO Stays welcomes you to Far North Queensland and to the Daintree Rainforest! We are a fairly new establishment and opened our doors to you in 2017, although we purchased this beautiful piece of paradise early in the 80’s with big dreams of one day being able to share with people the wonders of the wet tropics.

Daintree Peaks ECO Stays is fortunate enough to privately own 25 acres of this tranquil forest, and our establishment has been designed to minimize impacts on this ancient ecosystem. In that aspect, we are almost entirely ECO efficient. All of our power is Solar generated and our water is pumped straight from the underground mountain system, and then back out onto the land to water our garden.

Our cabins are perfect for your little Daintree getaway, each with a queen bed (or 2x singles) private bathroom, lounge, Air conditioning, ceiling fans, and kitchenette. All of our rooms have rainforest and mountain views of Thornton’s Peak, at 1374m high its rocky top is picture perfect! Breakfast is included in your room rate and is cooked by our onsite chef.

Our licenced cafe is open from 10am – 8pm, and is open to guests and to the public, our menu changes quite frequently to keep up with our locally harvested produce.

We also have a lap pool where you can unwind after a long day of exploring.

WHERE THE RAIN FOREST MEETS THE REEF

WHERE THE RAIN FOREST MEETS THE REEF

At around 1,200 square kilometres and the oldest living rainforest on Earth the World Heritage Listed Daintree is the largest continuous area of tropical rainforest on the Australian continent, Stretching from the Mossman Gorge to the Bloomfield River. Along the coastline north of the Daintree River, tropical forest grows right down to the edge of the sea.

The Daintree Rainforest contains 30% of the frog, reptile and marsupial species in Australia, and 90% of Australia’s bat and butterfly species. There are also over 12,000 species of insects in the rainforest. All of this diversity is contained within an area that takes up 0.1% of the landmass of Australia. Part of the forest is protected by the Daintree National Park and drained by the Daintree River.

Walking and climbing trails are a popular choice for those wanting to experience the beauty of nature first hand, however if you prefer to go faster there are plenty of off road 4WD tours available, or you can go out to sea and experience the unforgettable Great Barrier Reef!

Popular not only to nature enthusiasts, the Daintree National Park attracts many tourists to the region for a glimpse of the rare and spectacular plant and animal life that can only be found here. A tourists Dream, catering to all types of holiday makers, from backpackers to those wanting a taste of luxury, this living museum can provide it all.

ECO FRIENDLY INFORMATION

ECO FRIENDLY INFORMATION

The Daintree Rainforest is a world heritage listed site, and our properly is located within the Daintree National Park, this goes without saying that we need to respect our environment so future generations can experience as much as we get to today.

Our property is almost entirely ECO efficient, please read through the following to ensure you make the most out of your Daintree experience

  • There is Limited phone reception – we have Telstra only phone reception on our property, most places and some roads do not have any phone reception at all
  • No WIFI availability – we do not offer WIFI to our guests purely because of unreliable internet connection, our internet is satellite based so any wind/cloud/weather interference the signal is greatly effected
  • we do not provide bar soap, but we do provide liquid soap and shampoo – this is because the chemicals in bar soap do not react well with our underground filtration system
  • no hair dryers – We do not have power points in the bathrooms, please be aware that this is purely because we are on off the grid solar power and hair dryers use the most power of all electronics, please avoid using them if possible.

The rain forest has so much natural beauty, these days its quite hard with all of the modern technology, make the most of your Far North Queensland experience and switch off and soak up what mother nature has to offer.

Our home away from home in the Daintree Rainforest @ Daintree Peaks Eco Stay. My husband and I stayed for two nights. Cabins are located on a 25 acre property. Completely off the grid, solar panel batteries and bore water. New spacious and clean room with a comfortable bed. Strong hot water pressure showers. The common guest area has a perfect set up. Licensed bar and cafe (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner), pool table, swimming pool, comfortable lounge sofas with a good breeze way. Perfect way to sit back, relax and enjoy the wild life. Great hot breakie, with local fruit salad included (if you choose the bed and breakfast option). Good mobile coverage (if you are with Telstra). Greg has been a wonderful host... If you are after a quiet, new, clean and comfortable stay this is definitely the place. We wouldn't stay anywhere else next time we come back to Cape Tribulation/Daintree. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable Greg!

My partner and I had a great experience at the café of Daintree Peaks Eco Stays. We would certainly recommend a visit by those seeking great food, value and service in a peaceful and relaxed outdoor setting. We really appreciated the ability to extend our evening beyond just dinner with a pre meal drink in the comfortable lounge area and a game of pool before heading home. Thank you to Shannon and Duaine. We will be back!
